Welcome to the Homepage of the Association of Rivard Cousins (ARC).
Forming an organized group in the States is not a new idea. A few of the cousins discussed the formation while at RRV FL in 2004. It has also been discussed on the RFF several times. The Constitution/Bylaws are available to ARC members on the RivardArc group on Yahoo.. We also have four elected officers who were elected to staggered terms of office this first term at the meeting which was held in conjunction with the Rivard Rendez Vous 2005 at Old Orchard Beach, Maine on September 17, 2005. Many other volunteers are needed to fill the appointed positions such as Reunion Liasion, Newsletter Editor, Nominating Committee and Ethics Committee. Please say you are willing to help in one or more of these positions. This Association will only be as good as its members make it.
This group is doing as much as possible online. All notifications are done online; therefore all members must have an email address. Board of Directors meetings will be done online. Members may vote by absentee ballot . Everyone does have a say. If you want a voice, it will be heard. The members of this group know who the other members are. There will be no secret membership list. All news will be posted on this site and it will be updated as need be. A separate online newsgroup has been formed for members of ARC. Members of ARC need not be members of the Rivard Family Forum and members of the RFF need not be members of ARC.
The dues to join this group are very inexpensive: only ten ($10) dollars US a year. Or you may have the option of paying $15 US for two years or signing up for a 3 year membership for $20 US. We do not want to leave anyone out because the cost is too high.
You may be asking "What do I get for paying these dues?" The dues will go to help defray the costs of a paid website for ARC, donations for future reunions, starting a library to hold various genealogical vital records, such as marriage CD's. Eventually, we would like to set up a trading post where T-Shirts, mugs, etc. will be sold and at sometine in the futrure be able to provide a scholarship fund. The possibilities are endless if we work together.
We would especially like to invite all of our Cousins, Canadian and American, who are current members of the AIFR to join our Association of Rivard Cousins.
If you are interested in joining ARC, or if you have questions, please send an email to one of the officers listed below. Ask for a membership form to be e-mailed to you. You can them print the e-mail form and snail mail it back to Marlyss or Ann with your dues. (The address will be on the form) Your membership will be recorded and a ARC membership card will be sent to you. Our Treasurer is Ann Loranger, an accountant, who hosted the Rivard Rendez-Vous at Old Orchard Beach, Maine, September 16-18, 2005. So please join your Rivard Cousins in our new venture.
